Schon 2007 und 2012 haben Machine Head das Hellfest mit ihrem eingängigen Groove-Metal und sensationellen Bühnenauftritten bereichert. Auch 2024 mischen sie wieder mit.
Die Groove- und Thrash-Metal-Band Machine Head wurde 1991 in Oakland (Kalifornien) um Leadsänger Rob Flynn gegründet und zählt heute zu den ganz großen Namen des Genres. Zugegeben: Dass sie zwischen 2008 und 2010 als Supporting Act bei der Welttournee von Metallica auftraten, verschaffte den Jungs einen nicht unerheblichen Karriereboost.

1994 schufen Machine Head mit dem furiosen Debütalbum Burn My Eyes auf Anhieb einen Megakracher, der zu einem Klassiker des Genres werden sollte. Ihr neuntes Album Of Kingdom and Crown erschien das 2022.

Machine Head sind ausgesprochen selten auf Festivals zu sehen. Zum Glück für alle ARTE-Zuschauer und das Publikum in Clisson haben sich die US-Amerikaner für einen Abstecher zum diesjährigen Hellfest entschieden. Man soll die Feste feiern, wie sie fallen, und wenn Tausende von Fans sich vor der Mainstage des Festivals drängen, hat das gewiss seinen Grund …

Machine Head enriched Hellfest in 2007 and 2012 with their catchy groove metal and sensational stage performances. They will be involved again in 2024.

The groove and thrash metal band Machine Head was founded in 1991 in Oakland (California) around lead singer Rob Flynn and is now one of the biggest names in the genre. Admittedly, appearing as a supporting act on Metallica's world tour between 2008 and 2010 gave the boys a significant career boost.

In 1994, Machine Head created an instant mega-hit with their furious debut album Burn My Eyes, which would become a classic of the genre. Her ninth album Of Kingdom and Crown was released in 2022.

Machine Head are rarely seen at festivals. Luckily for all ARTE viewers and the audience in Clisson, the Americans have decided to take a detour to this year's Hellfest. You should celebrate the festivals as they come, and if thousands of fans crowd in front of the main stage of the festival, there is certainly a reason for that...
